Downtown Midland and Center City are home to locally owned businesses and restaurants, where you will find the products and services you need. The Midland Mall features four anchor stores and 60 shops, and is surrounded by retail stores, hotels, restaurants and a multiplex movie theater. 

Arts & Culture

Midland Center for the Arts provides year-round entertainment, from plays to musical and dance performances to films, art exhibitions and more. Creative 360 celebrates the creative process with a variety of performances, exhibitions, events and classes for all 
ages. Architecture and design buffs will enjoy touring the Alden B. Dow Home & Studio. History buffs can check out the Midland County Historical Society’s offerings.  

Parks & Recreation

Outdoor activities abound in Midland County. City of Midland maintains more than 80 parks—including spray parks, swimming pools, basketball and tennis courts, City Forest and playgrounds large and small—and the Parks & Recreation Department offers numerous programs.
 
Chippewa Nature Center hosts activities during all seasons for the outdoorsy and nature buffs, and you can enjoy nature’s seasonal beauty 365 days a year right in the middle of the city at Dow Gardens. The 30-mile Pere Marquette Rail Trail connecting Midland and Clare, MI, is one of many hiking/biking opportunities in the area.
