MITCON Receives Grant from Midland Area Community Foundation

Midland Information Technology Consortium (MITCON), a wholly owned subsidiary of Midland Tomorrow recently received a grant for $37,806 from the Midland Area Community Foundation to connect five local nonprofits to the M.Co.Net fiber optic network.
The grant funds will be used to build high-speed fiber optic connections to Disability Network of Mid‐Michigan, Family and Children's Services of Mid‐Michigan, Helping Hands Dental Center, Midland County Habitat for Humanity, and Personal Assistance Options. The new connections will bring faster, and reliable access to MITCON’s internet, phone, and private cloud services.
“We are profoundly grateful to the Midland Area Community Foundation for shouldering the burden of these one-time costs to allow our nonprofits to focus on improving the lives of residents in our community,” said Dawn Wright, MITCON Program Manager.  “This grant is another example of how MITCON’s program helps to foster a thriving community and in turn drives economic development,” said Becky Church, Midland Tomorrow Vice President.
MITCON’s mission is to provide comprehensive technology solutions for non-profit organizations operating in Midland and the surrounding Great Lakes Bay Region.  With over 15 years of successful operation, MITCON remains committed to helping non-profit organizations reduce their Information Technology costs and navigate the rapidly changing world of technology to help achieve their missions.
