Midland Tomorrow Welcomes New Economic Developer, Board Members
(Midland, MI) – Kate Julius has been hired as the new Economic Development Manager for Midland Tomorrow, starting May 16. She replaces Linda Hanlon, who has retired.

Julius brings diverse business and project management experience to the role. She most recently worked at Nexteer Automotive, first as a lean continuous improvement specialist and since 2015 as a supplier quality engineer.

Prior to that, Julius worked for Best Buy corporate headquarters in a series of roles: merchant analyst, senior demand planning analyst, consumer electronics recycling program manager (where she managed the largest consumer electronics recycling program in the United States) and business development manager. She started her professional career as a business analyst for Target at the corporate headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

A Michigan State University graduate with a BA in social relations and Japanese, Julius interned with the City of Lansing planning office and holds a number of business certifications. She is currently pursuing her MBA at the University of Michigan-Flint.

“Kate brings a wealth of diverse business and planning knowledge to Midland Tomorrow, and will be able to leverage this knowledge to assist our local businesses with whatever needs they may have,” said Becky Church, Vice President of Operations. “She has already hit the ground running and will begin conducting retention visits her second week.”

Midland Tomorrow also welcomed three new members to its Board of Directors: Brad Kaye, Assistant City Manager, Development Services, City of Midland; Ronnie Neumann, President, Alloy Construction; and Robert Musselman, President of Woody’s International Engineering & Manufacturing, Inc.
